Typical TCI Cable Construction

The Company

True Colours Industries have been designing and producing Hi Fi and AV cables since 1998. The company was founded by industry professionals as a result of passion and experience gained in over 40 years within the industry. TCI is based in Lisburn, nr Belfast UK, and source materials directly from UK suppliers, the cables are then finished by hand by skilled craftsmen to provide the end user with a bespoke product.

Our Designs

True Colours Industries utilises UK sourced Aerospace technologies and materials in our cable designs to ensure the highest possible performance in the widest range of systems and environments.

Our primary objective is to deliver consistently true and undistorted sound and images to the end user as they were intended at their initial recording. We then further ensure the end user receives the best possible sound to cost ratio that our designs will allow.

Materials and Construction

Metal conductors

True Colours Industries use only the highest quality extra-high purity metal conductors in our  cables including LC-OFC, SP-LC-OFC and on selected Hi-Fi interconnects SCA and SP-SCA.

The inclusion of these extra high purity conductors ensure a wide frequency response with low resistance and excellent linearity. The conductors and their exacting construction are tuned to extract the most faithful reproduction of the original signal.

Connectors

True Colours Industries partner our cable designs with the best quality connectors available at the relevant price point. Our designs incorporate award winning industry standards from companies including WBT, Neutrik and our own specific tooled split pin RCA plugs and Rhodium Plated Mains plugs to ensure you the best possible connection and signal integrity.

Aerospace Insulations

By using a variety of Aerospace grade insulations with both innovative and / or tested constructions, True Colours Industries cables are elevated to higher performance levels than most Hi-Fi and AV cables from our competitors.

These insulations include Kapton®, Teflon® PTFE, Teflon® FEP, LDPE and Superthane.
All have excellent properties when used as an insulation for Hi-Fi and AV cables and their low dielectric constant mean they are close to the perfect insulation - a vacuum.

When used in conjunction with extra high quality conductors they help with speed, micro dynamics and imaging. Their structural stability means they are relatively unaffected by changes in temperature and other external influences, giving a high consistency of sound and images with little colouration.

The high relative stiffness means that very little electrical energy is lost by conversion into kinetic energy. The result means for the end user an excellent bass extension, together with speed and definition. Kapton®, Teflon® PTFE, Teflon® FEP are used heavily in the Aerospace industry where their stability and excellent specifications are essential for the long term reliability of products in harsh environments and where their high cost is not an issue. LDPE and Superthane, whilst still reasonably expensive are however much less costly and are used by many high end cable manufacturers
